Our Approach

The Infertility Guidance Service

Infertility produces so many pressures. These may arise from your own longing to have a baby, from your immediate families, from society in general and even from the clinic and the treatment you are undergoing.

Infertility treatment can become very complex. You may find that the choices and options being discussed with you are bewildering, particularly if you are about to embark upon assisted conception treatment. As a result, you may feel that you have lost control and are on a rollercoaster that you can't get off.

The Infertility Guidance Service is not an Infertility Clinic. No treatments are carried out at all. The service has been set up to provide you with a totally unbiased and “easy to understand” assessment of all the options and various treatments that may be applicable to you. It is there to act as a guide through the infertility maze.

The Infertility Guidance Service is rather like a "sorting office", clarifying and discussing the whole range of possible options that are available to you. No decision will be made for you. You will not be told what to do. The aim is that through a balanced approach, the advantages and disadvantages of the various treatment options will be put into perspective and will help you to reach your own logical conclusions about any future treatment that you may or perhaps may not wish to undertake.
